Lego Bedroom

At  DIY Homefit we aim to provide high quality bespoke kitchen and bedroom furniture.  We have a wonderful range of options that can be tailor-made to your specifications.  Every month we like to bring you some unusual inspiration from around the world.  This month we have found a bedroom that looks fairly normal from a distance, but upon closer inspection you will see just how creative it is.

Nathan Sawaya from New York designed and made this incredible bedroom from reclaimed children’s Lego!  The room consists of a mirror, dresser, nightstand, bed, bedspread and even a cello – all made from the world’s favourite childhood building block. Those among us who have spent hours putting together Lego trucks and model houses will no doubt agree that this must have taken a lot of time and effort.

While the Sawaya creative approach means that the dresser actually opens and closes, and the cello can even be played, we aren’t sure that sleeping on a lego pillow would be all that comfortable.  That aside the team at DIY Homefit thinks it’s a brilliant example of modern art, and has made us all want to dust off our boxes of Lego to start creating ourselves!!
