A Kitchen To Shake For!

At DIY Homefit we have recently been spending some time surfing the internet to find out more about the latest trends in kitchens. One of the most popular things at the moment is for kitchens to incorporate a dining or living area into the kitchen space. As part of this, kitchen cabinets are tending to look more like fine bespoke furniture rather than just kitchen cabinets, and kitchen counters and islands are often functioning as dining tables as well as preparation areas.

Running through DIY Homefit’s product range to check that we are keeping pace with this trend, we were able to find some lovely examples of kitchen furniture that really fits the bill! You can see some of these in our gallery on our site.

Whatever the size and shape of your kitchen, DIY Homefit can provide replacement kitchen doors to ensure that your kitchen refurbishment is completely on trend!

We particularly like the Shaker style kitchen which is a fantastic combination of  the traditional and the contemporary. The term Shaker originates from an 18th century Manchester branch of the Quakers, who would shake during their religious services. The Shakers later settled in New England and became renowned for their high quality hand crafted furniture. Shaker kitchens today are renowned for their simple clean lines which seamlessly combine style and functionality.

The swiss pear colour of the kitchen cabinets shown here gives the kitchen a crisp clean feel, though the kitchen doors are available in all of our non-gloss finishes if you prefer a different look.
