Here at DIY Homefit we pride ourselves on providing affordable made to measure kitchens and bedroom furniture. We like to be able to bring you interesting concepts in design from around this world. This week we are looking at the use of pallets. With recycling and upcycling at an all time high it’s interesting to see the different ways in which certain materials can be used.  Pallets have especially taken on a new found love as they have become a favourite amongst artist and designers.

We have seen pallets being used in flooring and furniture in recent years but this week we spotted this beautiful kitchen made from the recycled material.  The varnished wood gives it an almost uncharacteristic look, though it’s probably worth noting that this will have been treated with chemicals to make it fire resistant and hygienic, plus it will have had an experienced carpenter to build and fit it.

Although it’s great to see someone else’s quirky kitchen, for style with practicality we think our custom made kitchens take some beating.
